Founded in 2005, LBG (Local BEST Group) Ankara has been an active and hardworking member of BEST ever since. We’re an enthusiastic and dynamic group of friends mainly composed of engineering students at Middle East Technical University.

European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC) a 3 level, team-based competition, in 2 categories – Innovative Design or Team Design and Case Study.
In Innovative Designs, the competitors should combine their creativity and knowledge to develop new technological designs or improve upon existing ones. Their professional presentation should demonstrate the technical, social, environmental, and economic impact of their design.
In Team Design teams are solving tasks within a limited time and limited availability of materials. The desired outcome is a device that has to perform the needed actions.
In Case Study category contestants need to provide a solution to a technical or a management problem and to present the outcome they came up with.
Teams are composed of 4 students from technology fields, regardless of the status of their degree, and tasks they’re solving are provided by BEST and company partners. The team which proves to be the most efficient, creative and successful solution at the end of the Final Round of EBEC is granted by “BEST Engineers of Europe” title.
EBEC project begins every year with the first Local Round of EBEC that is organized in Europe, followed by other Local Rounds as well as National/Regional Rounds, and reaches its end in the Final Round – an event that is organised at the end of July.
The winning teams from Local Rounds progress to National/Regional Rounds and the winning teams from National and Regional Rounds are competing in the Final Round of EBEC.

Case Study is a theoretical problem-solving challenge. Its solution requires the analysis, creation and presentation of a technological solution for a current engineering, economical and social problem, all within a limited amount of time and resources.
EBEC (European BEST Engineering Competition) is a 3 level, team-based competition, on 2 categories – Innovative Design and Case Study. Teams are composed of 4 students from technology fields, regardless of status of their degree, and tasks they’re solving are provided by BEST and company partners.
The National/Regional Round of EBEC is middle round of EBEC Pyramid, gathering the best students who have won their Local Rounds. The competitors are highly skilled and talented students, immersed in a dynamic, multicultural and creative environment where students, companies and universities share and gain knowledge about the world of innovation. Europe’s 90 elite universities in the European BEST Engineering Competition held locally feet (EBEC) are held in six universities in Turkey. These; Ege University, Istanbul Technical University, Middle East Technical University, Süleyman Demirel University, Yıldız Technical University and Bogazici University. The teams that won the local round of EBEC, to represent our country in Europe at EBEC Turkey; They will meet at Middle East Technical University on 13-16 May. The winning teams will go to Zagreb, Croatia to compete in the EBEC Final.

EBEC Final will take place on 22-30 July in Zagreb.
